Proclamations and Celebrations from Mayor

March named Madison Young Playwrights Month and American Red Cross Month, while March 2 is proclaimed Read Across America Day.

Mayor Mary-Anna Holden spent the beginning of the Borough Council's most recent meeting making three proclamations.

Holden first proclaimed March as American Red Cross Month with Red Cross representatives in attendance, including Mary Scheanen, communications and marketing manager for the Colonial Crossroads Chapter. Also standing with Holden was long-time Red Cross volunteer Council Preseident Jeannie Tsukamoto.

Holen also proclaimed March as Madison Young Playwrights Month, as March 6 is the Madison Young Playwrights Festival in conjunction with Playwrights Theatre. Holden had some young playwrights address the public by name and tell them what play they had written.
