Madison has a new police officer, and the police department has been authorized to start interviewing candidates to hire another officer.

Madison Atlanta Bread to Close

The Madison Atlanta Bread Company on Main Street is closing and Tuesday, Oct. 30, will be the bakery cafe's last day, the manager said.

Madison Police said in a news release an elderly woman was nearly scammed by two men claiming to be mechanics after one of the men approached her near the Madison Post Office, said he saw sparks coming from under her car and then followed her to her home to make the supposed repairs.

Approximately 60 people attended a forum for Madison Borough Council candidates Tuesday evening at the Madison Community House to hear the four candidates give statements and field audience members' questions.

Update: Campaign Signs Go Missing in Madison

With less than two weeks left until the Nov. 6 election, instances of theft and vandalism involving campaign signs have been reported around the U.S.—including in Madison.

New York Jets cornerback Kyle Wilson jumped rope, played basketball and rode scooters with Madison and Harding sixth-graders on Tuesday morning at Madison Junior School to wrap up the Jets Play 60 Challenge, which challenged students to get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day for four weeks.
