Ladies Night, Baseball Under Lights, MJS Gala This Week

A look at the week ahead in the Rose City.

Madison High School Baseball Hosts Night Game at Dodge Field: “Take me out to Dodge Field….”  It’s not exactly how the song goes, but it’s fitting for a good old-fashioned night of baseball on Saturday at Madison’s Dodge Field.

The Madison High School Bullpen Club will host a game under the lights and the whole community is invited.  The snack hut opens for snacks and dinner for sale at 6:30 p.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.  Admission is free. The Madison High School Varsity Team will face the Livingston Lancers for a fun, free night out for young families, senior citizens, and Little Leaguers alike. The first 50 Little Leaguers in uniform will receive a free hot dog and senior citizens will be entitled to one free beverage. Lawn chairs are recommended.

Connections in Bloom: The Madison Junior School PTO is hosting a special event, "Connections in Bloom," from 7:30 to 11 p.m Saturday to raise funds to support the need for advanced technology at the school.

Don and Bert Marcy of Coldwell Banker in Madison are providing the event site, a European manor home currently on the real estate market.  Chef Loryn of Madison and Main Street Wine Cellars are providing the food and beverages. The evening gala will also feature basket raffles, a photo booth, wine pull, a signature cocktail, craft beer and wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets are available online at www.MJSsocial.org. For more information email cmbowen149@gmail.com.

Door to Door Pet Census: Madison will be conducting a house by house canvas of the dogs and cats in town. The census is done in compliance with a state statute originally enacted in the 1950s to address the prevalence of rabid animals, and continues to be an important practice for protecting your pets, according to a notice on RoseNet.org.

Businesses will be handing out raffle tickets to customers to be used to enter a drawing to win two different baskets filled with product from various Madison merchants and restaurants.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. at Doodlebugz, 55 Main Street, where the red carpet will be rolled out and wine and cheese will be offered by Gary's Wine & Marketplace. Service businesses plan to welcome attendees at registration and offer some hospitality.
