First Major Snow Storm of Season Hits Madison

Reports of 8 inches of snow in town, grocery stores and gas stations all reportedly open.

Though the snow fall was considerable, weather reports ended up being a bit overzealous for Madison when it came to the first major snow storm of the season. Stores were open as usual and roads were clear for kids to sleigh ride at places like Drew University.

The Madison Department of Public Works was busy as early as Friday morning readying the borough for the storm, which had been forecast to drop between 8 inches and a foot in Morris County.

Although we don't have official numbers yet, reports have Madison's snow total around 8 inches. We're well short of the amounts being recorded in southern Jersey, where some areas reported 24 inches.
