Delays Expected for Madison Midtown Direct Trains

Morris & Essex rail traffic to be affected.

If you're going by train this weekend, better plan in a few extra minutes of travel time.

Beginning at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, May 20 and continuing through Sunday, May 22, all Midtown Direct trains on the Morris & Essex Lines may experience delays of 15-20 minutes in both directions due to signal system upgrades near Madison.

Eastbound trains will experience delays between Madison and New York and will continue to operate later than scheduled en route to New York.

Westbound trains will depart New York and Newark on or close to schedule, but will experience delays from Summit to Dover.

Montclair Line trains to Bay Street and Hoboken will hold for connections at Newark Broad Street and also will be subject to 15-20 minute delays.
