Chamber Raffle, State Final, Menorah Lighting This Week

A look at the week ahead in the Rose City.

Open Studio: From 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Monika Fine Millinery, 9 Myrtle Ave., is opening its studio to the public for hats, hat chat, and refreshments.

Chamber Holiday Open House and Basket Raffle: On Thursday, participating stores will hand out raffle tickets to customers to participate in a free basket raffle, with more than 25 baskets to be raffled off at 6:30 p.m. Participating merchants will display balloons outside their premises.

The event begins at the start of business and continues throughout the day. Baskets, with values ranging up to $350, will be on display at Coccia Realty, 49 Main Street. Winners do not have to be present for the drawing.

State Final: Madison will face Mountain Lakes at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kean University.

Toys for Tots Drive: Poor Herbie's is hosting a Toys for Tots Drive from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, with 10 percent of proceeds donated to Toys for Tots for NY Presbyterian Hospital and Fort Monmouth, where families displaced by Superstorm Sandy will be celebrating the holidays.

Menorah Lighting: The Madison Menorah Lighting will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, the second night of Hanukah. The Menorah is located across the street from the Hartley Dodge Memorial building on Kings Road at the Madison Train Station. Refreshments following the lighting will be served in the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building. All residents and businesspeople are invited to join the layor and borough officials in the lighting of the menorah.
