Budget Hearing, Holocaust Memorial, Shakespeare LIVE! This Week

A look at the week ahead in the Rose City.

Budget Hearing: A public hearing on Madison's introduced 2013 budget is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at Hartley Dodge Memorial. Officials have said an ordinance adjusting Madison's open space tax rate, which is poised to bring in significantly more money this year because of the borough's recent property revaluation, also could be introduced.

Short Shakespeare: Shakespeare LIVE!, which features dynamic one-hour productions appropriate for ages 8 and up, is performing "Romeo and Juliet" at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday, and "Comedy of Errors" at 12 p.m. Saturday at Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. Tickets $16.

Holocaust Memorial Service: The Annual Interfaith Holocaust Memorial Service of the Madison–Florham Park Interfaith Council is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. Rabbi Kenneth M. Tarlow of Congregation Beth Torah in Florham Park has announced the guest speaker will be Harry Ettlinger, who escaped Germany with his family in 1938 and came to the U.S. He returned to Europe as a soldier in the U.S. Army serving "in a small and very unusual group that was originally called, 'Monuments, Fine Arts & Archives Section' and later became known simply as the 'Monuments Men.'"

'A Salute to Les Paul and Mary Ford': Husband and wife duo Tom and Sandy Doyle will present their Les Paul/Mary Ford tribute on guitars, percussion, flute and vocals at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Madison Public Library.

'Female Bodybuilders' Photo Exhibit: The Korn Gallery at Drew University an exhibition of large-scale photographs by Martin Schoeller through April 24. The Korn Gallery, located in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
