Borough Places Restrictions on Water Use

Outdoor water use only allowed on even-odd system basis, and only at specific times during those days.

The sweltering heat and lack of rain over the past few days has caused the Borough of Madison to impose outdoor water use restrictions on residents.

Permitted use will be on an even-odd system, meaning water could be used on even-numbered days for residents or businesses whose dwelling, building or box numbers are also even, and on odd-numbered days for their counterparts. It is also important for residents to note that, although they are allowed to use water outdoors on alternate days, use will only be allowed from midnight to 8 a.m. and then from 8 p.m. to midnight on those days where use is permitted.

Borough Administrator Ray Codey said the outdoor uses that would be restricted in the even-odd system are lawn and shrub watering, car washing, and driveway and sidewalk washing.
