BOE Goal-Setting, 'Rhythm Kings' on Tap in Madison

What's happening in the borough this week.

Board of Education: A retreat for school board members to perform a self-evaluation and set goals is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The regular portion of the meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in the library.

Along with 3 p.m. storytime hosted by the Madison Public Library at the market, there will be demonstrations of traditional needle work outside of the museum. Art Adventures will be at the market and kids will have the opportunity to make a fun hands-on art project with “Mrs. C.”

Outdoor Concert: The Downtown Concert Series features blues band Al Gold & the Suburban Rhythm Kings from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday on the lawn of the .

The group is a "quartet of Blues loving Soul and Funk specialists who bring experience, enthusiasm and passion to their mix of originals and standards," according to an announcement for the event.

The group is comprised of Al Gold (guitar/vocals), Tom Rice (guitar/vocals/harmonica), Terry Hemmer (bass/vocals) and Jerry Cordasco (drums/percussion).

The Downtown Concert Series is a lineup of free, Friday evening, family-friendly concerts held every other week.
