Big Week for High School Students

Band competition, AP honors, and big wins in the headlines.

Students at Madison High School dominated the headlines this week on Madison Patch. There were events, honors and victories to be celebrated.

On Monday, we brought you images from the MHS marching band's first competition hosted at home. We also told you about how the Dodgers boys soccer team advanced in the Morris County Tournament. Finally, we told you about how a Madison resident was honored as the local chapter of the Red Cross held its Oktoberfest fundraiser.

On Tuesday, we brought you a gallery form the T.J. Martell Foundation Walk-A-Thon, which raised money for research for a number of good causes. We told you about how a man was arrested for changing the price of a $693 bottle of win in the police blotter. We also told you about how the Madison Police Department was pleased to help announce the new and improved Morris County Crimestoppers Web site. On Wednesday, we unveiled College Stars, a weekly notebook showing you what former Dodgers are doing at the next level. We also told you about how 37 MHS students received Advance Placement honors for their achievements last school year. Finally, we told you how Madison would be part of a that two NJ residents were finishing to help raise awareness and funds.

On Thursday, Chris Anderson's Rose of Hope told you about the Madison Historical Society and all that it does to preserve the town's past for its future. We also told you about how the Pee Wee Dodgers donned the pink ribbon at their latest game to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You found out about the Dodgers field hockey team's big win against tough Parsippany. Finally, we told you about the unsung heroes of the undefeated Dodgers football team, the offensive line.
