Whole Foods to Open Second Location in Morris

Madison Whole Foods will have a counterpart in Parsippany, the company said.

The will have a counterpart in Parsippany in 2014 or 2015, the company said Tuesday.

Since word was released last week that a , which would be the second in Morris County, many residents near the planned location have reacted with excitement.

Company spokesperson Michael Sinatra told Patch that lease papers have been signed for Whole Foods to rent about 40,000 square feet in a complex that will be constructed on Route 46 between Waterview Boulevard and Intervale Road, where woods now stand.

"We're thrilled to be coming to Parsippany," Sinatra said. "I am from the area and with Mountain Lakes and Denville nearby, we know this will be a great location."

While a lease agreement has been struck, the project is in the process of obtaining building permits, Sinatra said, adding that the eventual market site should be roughly the size of the Whole Foods in Madison, "though it will feel larger."

He said that Whole Foods Market is very selective about where it places its stores and only opens two or three new stores each year.

And what about the Whole Foods in Madison ? That store needs a major overhaul and with Jane's Nails and the dry cleaner who have, or in the process of, vacating, someone tell those Whole Foods "suits" to use that space and think like shoppers not executives. Do these people even shop in their own stores ?

I believe that is why Jane's and the dry cleaner have moved. Their lease has not been renewed so that WF can expand. I think they are bringing back the liquor. Need something to wash down all that healthy food.
