WANTED: Local Artists' Work for Display Around Boro

Madison: Open for Art recruits Rose City businesses to promote work of local artists.

Madison: Open for Art will gather local artists whose works will be displayed in Rose City retail stores, restaurants, and banks in an exhibition from May 1 - 31.

The concept of the program is to host exhibitions throughout the year where local artists will showcase their work in participating borough stores. The artwork will be available for sale, and a portion of the proceeds will fund a scholarship for students pursuing further study in the field of visual arts.

The non-profit partnership between the Madison Arts and Culture Alliance, ILOVIT Gallery and Ira L. Black Photography has attracted a number of local businesses including , Coffee Shop, Restaurant, , , , Coccia Realty and others.

“When Shawn [Backe, co-founder of ILOVIT Gallery] and Ira came to us with the idea for Madison: Open for Art, we knew it was a great fit for our newly developed
strategic plan for the business community and for the arts community," said Deborah Farrar Starker, president of Madison Arts and Culture Alliance, in a release. “We were eager to be on board and help them realize this vision.”
