Mexican-Asian Fusion Comes to Waverly Place

Grand opening for Bento Grill is Saturday.

A "build-it-yourself" quick service restaurant that blends traditional Mexican style food with Asian flavors has opened on Waverly Place in Madison.

They said the style of restaurant is popular on the West Coast and people are always looking to try something new.

For about $6 or $7, customers choose whether they want their meal with a tortilla shell, Asian soft taco or rice, then whether they want beef, chicken or pork.

They can then choose beans or vegetables, and then a sauce: Mexican salsa, Japanese teriyaki, Thai satay, Szechuan garlic or Korean BBQ.

Customes can dine in, order delivery or carry out. Orders can be placed online.

Bento Grill will host its grand opening on Saturday, June 2.  The ribbon cutting will take place at 11 a.m. Mayor Bob Conley and John Morris, president of the will be attending.
