Childrens' Boutique Doodlebugz Opens on Main St.

Welcoming atmosphere lets parents relax while kids create one-of-a-kind bead creations.

Doodlebugz, home of Studio BeadBugz, has opened at 55 Main Street in Madison.

The newly-renovated 2,400-square-foot space features everything from ballerina rocking chairs to monster mouth garbage pails to toy chests, tool boxes and beach pails, all one-of-a-kind and personalized.

The modern and cheerful décor features life-size ladybugs, peace sign murals and artfully decorated merchandise greet you as you enter. The spacious boutique leads to a wide entryway and Studio Beadbugz, an on-site bead design studio for play dates, events or private birthday parties.

“The concept of the business is to provide unique gift solutions for customers to grab and go and to provide an activity center for kids that is interactive and fun,” says Jacquie Dinsmore, the store owner and resident of Madison.  “We wanted the boutique and studio to have a fresh, hip design that is welcoming to both adults and kids.”

In order to create this feel, Dinsmore and Kristen Schuster, a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and resident artist of the boutique, started with a simple pallet of white shelving and dark hardwood floors to showcase the boutique’s unique merchandise. The boutique’s look is complemented with Shuster’s hand-painted murals, as well as colorful accent pieces such as life-size daises, huge hanging bubble chandeliers and comfortable leather couches for adults to relax while kids participate in bead-craft.

Doodlebugz celebrates its official Grand Opening on May 7 from 11 a.m. -  3 p.m. with free face-painting, cupcakes, balloons, giveaways and more. The boutique is also booking private events and birthday parties.
