Music, Weather Help Make For Rockin' Concert

NoName James & Butterball helps downtown series kick start Labor Day weekend in borough.

Finally, the weather held.

free downtown concert series continued Friday to the largest crowd of the season, which heard NoName James & Butterball rock through two sets of original songs and classics.

While the museum's basement dried from Irene, families picnicked and children danced. NoName James & Butterball, who have been playing "around for years" covered artists such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Jimmy Reed. They also played guitar-driven bluesy originals under a cloudy but rain-free sky, cool and hinting at fall.

The trio's guitarist and lead singer, "NoName James" tells Patch how he got his moniker in the attached video.

The series continues in two weeks with area rock blues favorites, Big Bad Irish on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.
