EPICS #1 RELEASE PARTY & SIGNING

Dewey's Comic City, 13 Park Avenue, in Madison New Jersey,  will host an exclusive Release Party and Signing Event to celebrate the debut of EPICS #1, on Saturday, September 15th, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.   EPICS is an independently published anthology comic book created by artists Fernando Ruiz, Bob Hardin, Fabio Redivo and Anthony Marques.  All four creators will all be on hand to sign copies of EPICS and to do sketches.

The EPICS creators are all graduates of The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art where they originally met  as instructors or as students.   The first issue of EPICS is dedicated to their friend and mentor, Joe Kubert, the legendary comic artist and teacher who passed away in August, 2012.  All four creators continue as instructors on staff at the school.

EPICS consists of four series: Fernando Ruiz's sci-fi adventure The Iron Ghost, action packed racing adventure in "A Racy Story" by Bob Hardin, mystery and suspense by Fabio Redivo in Drake and an a classic aviation adventure in Katyusha, by Anthoney Marques. Each issue of EPICS will follow a certain theme and the theme for EPICS #1 is the 1950's so all of the stories take place during that decade.

"We're very excited to be hosting this event" said Dewey's Comic City's owner Dan Veltre.  "The artists of EPICS crew are very popular with those folks who shop here.  Fernando has been signing and sketching at our store as part of our "artist alley" during FREE COMIC BOOK DAY ever since the event began 11 years ago, and Fabio and Anthony have joined him over the last few years.  I often tell people  that there are fans all over the area that have sketches from these guys hanging up on their walls!  And now, with all four co-creators sketching and signing here at the same time this is a really special opportunity to get a very unique one-of-a-kind collectible."

EPICS #1 is a 32 page full color comic consisting of 4 stories, pin-ups and "behind the scenes" pages.  It will be on sale for the first time ever, exclusively at Dewey's Comic City, on Saturday, September 15.
