Rotary's Night at the Museum Aids Japan Relief

Charity event raises awareness of continued need in disaster-stricken country.

The sponsored a fundraiser Wednesday night at the Morris Museum to assist the people of Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March.

A Japanese drummer sounded the gathering and as the guests entered the museum, they were greeted by women dressed in traditional kimonos.

In attendence were Ambassador and Consul General of Japan in New York Shigeyuki Hiroki and Motoatsu Sakurai, president of the Japan Society and the former president of Mitsubishi's American subsidiary.

The event was filled with talented koto players and a husband and wife jazz duet, and included a $10,000 donation from NJ Unites to Help Japan, a fundraiser held in April in Madison.
