Neighbors Cheer Dodge Field Swings' Return

"To the relief of many parents in the neighborhood the swings now are back," a Greenwood Avenue resident tells Patch.

The swings at the Dodge Field playground on Greenwood Avenue have returned.

The swings were missed by swing-loving little ones during warm days this spring, leaving them to face jungle gyms they're not quite big enough to navigate, one dad said.

But Greenwood Avenue resident Mary Murphy had good news to share Wednesday morning after seeing borough employees at work at the playground.

"I know many of my neighbors have been wondering where the swings at the Dodge Park playground have gone," Murphy wrote. "The good news is this morning I saw town workers installing new ones. I'm not sure why they were taken down in early spring (do you know?) but to the relief of many parents in the neighborhood the swings now are back."

We appreciate the tip and we'll let you know if we hear more about what the situation was with the swings.

Those eager to give the playground equipment a whirl might want to bring a towel as it was raining earlier in the day.
