MHS Girls Lacrosse Fundraiser Honors Christine Massaro

Sales of apparel to raise money for NJ facility for women being treated for cancer.

The girls lacrosse team is hoping to turn the tragic passing from cancer of a teammates' mother into an opportunity to help other women in their fight against the disease.

The fundraiser sale of reversible pinnies and t-shirts honors Christine "Sissy" Massaro, mother of tenth-grade lacrosse player Rachel Massaro, who died March 11 following a long battle with breast cancer. Proceeds will go to Mary’s Place by the Sea, a facility for women to rest during cancer treatment in Ocean Grove which operates solely on donations.

The pinnies and t-shirts bear the slogan "Fight like a sissy" above a pink ribbon and crossed lacrosse sticks, and the initials "CM", and are available in youth and adult sizes. Orders are due by April 8.
