Isn't It Time to Give These Pets a Good Home?

Lovable cats and dogs are waiting for you at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center.

If you're looking to adopt a dog or cat, St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center of Madison is the place to start. The nationally-recognized shelter handles more than 4,000 adoptions each year. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and bathed prior to being placed, following a careful matching process designed to foster a relationship that's beneficial for animal and adopter, and one that will endure for the lifetime of the dog or cat. For more information, call 973-377-2295  or visit its website.

Here are just a few of the shelter residents available for adoption:

Noel: This eight-year-old male has a good spirit who couldn't go along when his previous owner moved. He loves attention from people and doesn't need any practice to be a good snuggler. He's a nice guy who will steal your heart.

Hanna: This fun, lovable girl has a lot of energy and a lot of love to give. She plays well with people and other dogs, and loves chasing a toy.

Huffy: This sweet, slightly scared all-black female cat is still a baby at just seven months old. She has a sleek and shiny coat and gorgeous yellow eyes, so it's hard to believe she was a stray in East Hanover. Once she gets comfortable with a person, she can be picked up and will sit on your lap.

Sheila: This two-year-old boxer/bullmastiff mix is friendly, enjoys being petted, and loves affection and attention. She's OK on a leash, has not had much training but is very good at "sit." Sheila is best-suited for a home with adults or adults and kids ages 10 and older, since I still jump up once in a while. I may be OK with another dog, so please bring your dog with you when you come to meet me so we can be sure that we will all get along.

Thea: This three-year-old was rescued from the streets and has settled into her new surroundings. Once she feels safe and loved, she'll come out of her shell, and can usually be found sleeping belly up!
