The Blessing of the Animals

As autumn arrives here in Madison, people in town may notice something rather odd happening on the front lawn of The Presbyterian Church of Madison on Sunday, October 3rd. As a procession of animals, everything from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and even stuffed animals, will gather on the front lawn of the church for a special ceremony, named The Blessing of the Animals.

The Blessing of the Animals is an event in which all our beloved pets are invited to receive God's blessing in memory of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. We invite all who wish to join us Sunday, October 3rd at noon on the lawn in front of the sanctuary.

The Presbyterian Church of Madison is located at 19 Green Avenue, across from borough hall and the train station.  To meet our pastor personally and tour the church, call 973-377-1600, or better yet come visit us Sunday mornings for worship at 10:15 am.
