5 Things You Should Know This Week

Doings and goings-on in and around Madison.

Get out your 2012 schedule, there's much to see and do this week, from historic exhibits and hockey to hardwood cagers.

Monday — The large-scale Lego sculptures of artist Nathan Sawaya are on display in the touring exhibit The Art of the Brick at the , and visitors can build their own LEGO creations. Admission is $10. The hockey team takes to the ice against Mount Olive at 4:30 at Mennen Sports Arena, 161 East Hanover Ave., Morristown.

Tuesday — There are hoops aplenty as the Dodger girls travel to Morris Catholic for a 4 p.m. tip-off; the boys host Morris Catholic at Madison High School, time changed to 7 p.m.

Wednesday — Macculloch Hall Historical Museum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller families, the Morris area community, and the legacy of its founder W. Parsons Todd through its historic site, collections, exhibits, and educational and cultural programs. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students 12 and older, $4 for children 6-12. Members and children five and under free. Dodger wrestlers get back on the mat, 7 p.m. at Hanover Park High School.

Thursday — Never tried zumba? Drop in on a class at 7:30 p.m. at the , fee is $10. On the hardwood, Madison girls basketball visits Hanover Park while the boys host the Hornets. Both games get started at 7 p.m.

Friday — The starry-eyed can take in an informal lecture by Amateur Astronomers, Inc. and view the night sky through two big telescopes at the William Miller Sperry Observatory on the campus. The lecture begins at 8:30 p.m. and telescopes are in operation from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
