Free Walking Tours to Showcase Madison

45-minute tours meet Thursday afternoon at farmers' market.

Two free, 45-minute walking tours of downtown Madison are scheduled for Thursday afternoon. The Historic Preservation Commission and Historical Society will host the tours, which meet at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in front of the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts on Green Village Road off Main Street.

The tours are in collaboration with the Downtown Development Commission’s weekly farmers’ market, which is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is featuring pizza samples this week.

The tours will include information from Barbara Parker and from the work of Robert Guter, an architectural historian who specializes in New Jersey architecture, according to a borough announcement about the tours.
