DESCRIPTION:This Fall Macculloch Hall Historical Museum will exhibit some
  of its most popular pieces as well as many seldom-seen treasures which 
 have been in storage. Vivid examples of the antique Oriental rug collect
 ion will be hung in the museum's first floor gallery\, complemented by t
 extbook examples of fine porcelain\, silver\, glass and furniture collec
 ted by Museum founder\, W. Parsons Todd. This is a special opportunity t
 o see rarely-exhibited treasures from the collection in the gallery and 
 tour the rest of the museum to see many other pieces in period room sett
 ings.&nbsp\; Included in the exhibit are over a dozen Oriental rugs from
  the Museum&rsquo\;s collection. The exhibit will also feature some of o
 ur country&rsquo\;s founding heroes documents including artifacts includ
 ing George Washington\, Dolley Madison and others. The exhibit will also
  feature fine furniture such as a walnut English armchair\, circa 1720\,
  which was the inspiration for the Museum&rsquo\;s logo with the ornate 
 looping back and shell design.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\n&ldquo\;A Fine Collectio
 n&rdquo\; has a perimeter layout which leaves the center of the room ope
 n for a series of speakers and musical programming taking place in conju
 nction with the exhibit over the next several months.&nbsp\; Programs in
  conjunction with the exhibit take place with music on the first Sunday 
 at 4:30pm and speakers on the third Sunday of the month November through
  June (no programs in January). They begin on Sunday November 4th with &
 ldquo\;Johnny Has Gone for a Solider: Early American Music&rdquo\;.&nbsp
 \; &ldquo\;The Early Music Players&rdquo\; will perform parlor songs\, p
 olitical songs &amp\; dance music on replicas of 18th century instrument
 s\, such as the flute\, recorder\, viola da gamba &amp\; guitar.\n&nbsp\
 ;\nOn Sunday November 18 4:30pm - Executive Director Carrie Fellows will
  present &ldquo\;Fashions in the Age of Austen&rdquo\;\, an exploration 
 of women&rsquo\;s fashion encompassing 1790 &ndash\; 1817. Using images 
 from the period\, photos of surviving garments\, silhouettes in the Muse
 um&rsquo\;s collection and handsewn reproduction clothing\, Fellows will
  illustrate the Regency silhouette.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nTickets for Sunday 
 programs will go on sale from 1pm on the day of the program\, no advance
  sales. &nbsp\;A separate ticket ($12) is required for the musical progr
 ams\; discounted ($10) for members\, Seniors\, Students and those who pu
 rchased a Museum tour ticket that afternoon.&nbsp\; House tours (regular
  admission applies) take place throughout the afternoon\, the last tour 
 leaves at 3pm. The upstairs galleries will remain open until 4:30pm howe
 ver the &ldquo\;A Fine Collection&rdquo\; exhibit will close at 3pm in p
 reparation for the program. Tickets to hear speakers are Adults $8\; Sen
 iors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Members and childre
 n under 5 are free. Speaker tickets include admission to take part in a 
 house tour if visitors arrive during the afternoon and sign up to tour.&

 nBoth series continue in December with &ldquo\;The Early Music Players&r
 dquo\; returning on December 2\, to perform &ldquo\;Carols and Capers: A
  Music Celebration from the Olde and New Worlds&rdquo\;&nbsp\; which cel
 ebrates the season with a collection of beautifully performed holiday mu
 sic from various countries spanning the Medieval\, Renaissance and Baroq
 ue periods (1300's - 1700's).&nbsp\; Then on December 16th join F.M. Kir
 by Curator Ryan Hyman as he presents &ldquo\;Thomas Nast&rsquo\;s Histor
 ical Icons&rdquo\;\, to learn more about the nineteenth century politica
 l cartoonist&rsquo\;s Thomas Nast including his popularization of the mo
 dern day image of Santa Claus\n&nbsp\;\nMacculloch Hall Historical Museu
 m preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller families\, the Morris a
 rea community\, and the legacy of its founder W. Parsons Todd through it
 s historic site\, collections\, exhibits\, and educational and cultural 
 programs. The Museum is open to tour the house and view exhibits on Wedn
 esdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Adults $8\; Seniors &
