Janice Fenimore is a self-taught wood carver. Ms. Fenimore enjoys finding the whimsical while drawing on American historical figures. The whirligig offers a simple and direct form of art to delight the eye while tweaking the mind to consider these household images from a new perspective.
Her work is in the permanent collections of the Newark Museum (Newark, NJ), American Museum of Folk Art (NYC), and the Smithsonian Institution/Renwick Gallery (Washington, DC). Ms. Fenimore lives in Madison NJ.
