Zoning Board Approves Residential Applications

Four requests for variances are granted.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment approved a number of applications at its meeting Thursday night at .

All resolutions for memorialization on the agenda were approved, as were two other applications. Variances were granted to:

  • Mohamed Seyam, 36 Central Ave., to construct a 2-1/2 story family dwelling and detached one-car garage in the CBD-2 Central Business District Zone. The application requested relief from maximum principal building coverage, minimum side yard set back, minimum rear yard set back, and minimum distance of driveway to property line;
  • Richard and Dawn Nowak, 41 Maple Ave., to construct two one-story additions, extend existing chimney and partial removal of existing deck in an R-3 Single-Family Residential Zone. The application required relief from minimum side yard set back and maximum impervious lot coverage;
  • Kimberley and Joseph Hanley, 55 Hamilton Street, to construct a 1-1/2 story addition, two covered porches, walk, patio and pavers, driveway expansion and air conditioner units in an R-3 zone. The application required relief from maximum principal building coverage and minimum rear yard set back;
  • Charles and Deirdre Paul, 13 Shadylawn Drive, to construct a one-story addition, wood platform and steps and enclosed porch renovation in an R-3 zone. The application required relief from maximum principal building coverage.


Other applications approved:

  • Anthony Guerrierro, 20 Lathrop Ave., requesting permission to construct a detached three-car garage, driveway expansion and partial removal of existing deck in an R-4 Two-Family Residential Zone. The application requires relief from maximum accessory structure size, maximum accessory structure height and expansion of non-conforming use;
  • Ben and Lucy Natale, 112 Garfield Ave., requesting permission to construct a one-story addition, deck, new walk and steps in an R-1 Single-Family Residential Zone. The application requires relief from maximum principal building coverage and maximum impervious lot coverage.
