Warrant Lands Boro Man, 70, in Jail

Outstanding warrants resulted in two arrests by law enforcement in the Rose City during the week of Jan. 23.
On Jan. 24 at 4:08 a.m., Madison Police Department Ptl. Paul Papamarkos arrested 70-year-old James O’Donnell of Madison on the strength of a $500 arrest warrant issued by Morristown Municipal Court for failure to appear on criminal trespassing charges. Papamarkos responded to a noise complaint on Alexander Avenue involving O”Donnell, and a computer check on his name alerted the officer that he was wanted. O'Donnell was taken to headquarters for processing and released to Morristown authorities pending a mandatory court appearance.
Earlier, at 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 24, Ptl. Luis Goncalves arrested 29-year-old John Monka of Jamesburg, N.J. on the strength of a $650 arrest warrant issued by Madison Municipal Court for failure to appear for traffic offenses. Goncalves was contacted by the Essex County Correctional Facility who had Monka in custody. He was taken to headquarters for processing and later to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
The police, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 17 medical emergencies, and police investigated seven motor vehicle crashes during the week.
