Madison trick-or-treating officially is rescheduled for Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the borough announced Thursday.
That is an exception to orders from the governor moving Halloween celebrations to Monday.
Madison Mayor Bob Conley said holding it on Saturday makes sense for Madison because there will be more daylight then, before Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday. And even if Madison waited until Monday, there still are expected to be areas around the borough without power, he said.

Halloween trick or treating is officially rescheduled to this Sat Nov 3 from 2pm to 6pm. Be safe and enjoy.

So many people have longstanding plans on Saturdays. Very disappointed we are not following the governor's orders.

I agree. It is a disappointing decision, considering the elementary and Junior schools have a half day of school on Monday. They will all be dismissed by 12:40. There would be plenty of daylight for trick or treating. Many people have left town through Sunday to wait out the storm. Monday would have been a better choice.

Great news! We flew in from London for Halloween, got stuck with no power and now have to fly back on Sunday. Saturday Halloween will bring some joy into my kids life before we go back!

it's a tough situation, and people will be disappointed either way. many people utilize after school programs like the kirby center or attend private schools like saint vincent martyr and don't have an early dismissal. i know that i appreciate not having to leave work early on monday to get the kids early so that we can have halloween on monday, but i feel for those who are not around this weekend and will miss it. there's not a right answer here...
