More than 450 people attended the 11th annual Taste of Madison on Monday at the Park Avenue Club and the event, which serves as a fundraiser for the Downtown Development Commission, Chamber of Commerce and Madison Rotary, was expected to raise more than $40,000 for those groups, organizers said.
"Great event, great causes, great people," said Gino Iossa of Rocco's Tuscany Bar and Grill, which was one of about 30 restaurants and stores that showcased foods and wines at the event.
Iossa served zeppole and found people coming back four or five times for the pastries.
Gary Fisch of Gary's Wine & Marketplacehe thought the restaurants really stepped up this year with excellent dishes.
Madison resident Christina Jeffrey attended the event with two coworkers, Courtney McDaniel of Millburn and Debbie Brask of Denville, and they were debating which Crowley Cupcake—red velvet, mint or ganache—was best.
"We had a great time," Jeffrey said.
