Scouts Help Police Get Residents Connected With Nixle
Alert system sign-up event to be held July 2.
The Madison Police Department will partner with Madison Scout units Venture Crew 77 and Troop 7, to get more residents to sign up for Nixle, the emergency police alert service, July 2 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. throughout the borough.
Nixle (www.nixle.com) is a free service that delivers instant emergency police alerts to residents and business owners through e-mail and text messaging. The alerts are spam and advertisement-free and will alert subscribers to missing persons, road closures, crimes-in-progress and much more.
The police department said Scouts will be located at the following locations on July 2: Madison Community Pool, Atlanta Bread. Co., Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, and Prima. Each location will be set up with Internet access for registration on-site and Scouts will be ready to answer any questions.
