Three touchdowns from junior Justin Goodwin, coupled with a dominating defensive performance, helped lead the Madison football team Dodgers stop Chatham, 29-0, in a North 2, Group II semifinal matchup on Saturday in Madison.

With the win, Madison earned the chance to defend their sectional title, as they get set for a North 2, Group II title game against Summit on Friday, Dec. 2.

What a sham! Just found out as per Justin Goodwin's facebook page that he is actually 19 yrs. old and still a junior in high school. Are you kidding me? He should be a freshman/sophomore in college by now...why is he still playing in high school? No wonder no one can beat Madison. A form of cheating that goes beyond the pale. Just plain disgusting.

@Peter, From your previous posts, you seem to be an adult and I don't know why you are trolling students' Facebook pages.
If you did any type of research before you posted here and on Summit's victory article on Summit Patch you would be able to find many athletes' birthdays on MaxPreps.com's recruiting page.
This brings the term "sore loser" to a new level.

P.P.S.- If someone is born in October of 1994, how old are they?

Someone needs to warn Justin that some pervert from Chatham is cyber-stalking him,

@Peter and anyone else who feels like making excuses for their team and being jealous...

I will say again.. also am a Junior and have know Justin for a very long time. For those of you who dont know or have facebooks, it is not a serious social media site, and you can put whatever age you want on your facebook page, for example i could say i was born in 1820 and facebook wouldnt stop me. Clearly you dont know Justin or have any prof of what your saying so please stop wasting your time by posting on multiple Patch blogs and making a fool of yourself.

Such denial and anger are usually followed up with bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Must have struck a nerve. You'd have to "be friends" with #4 to see that he himself admits to being born October 6,1992. The math is pretty simple or is that too difficult for you all? I would tend to believe what the guy admits to himself on his own facebook page before I'd believe any "doctored up" recruiting link. Get over it, Madison is running a sham. They should all be ashamed. They thought no one was smart enough to catch on. Good luck with the rest of your football season, gentlemen, good luck.

@Kevin Blair...don't assume anything about who I am. That would be foolish on your part, don't you think?

@Peter,
I apologize for assuming anything about you. I have never responded to any threads on Patch because I do enjoy watching the dialogues between folks, but I was compelled to respond to your comments because you posted not only on Madison Patch, but Chatham's and Summit's as well.
I apologize for assuming that you are an adult based upon your previous posts regarding all things Chatham: Municipal elections, Response to the October storm, Chatham Athletics, etc.
What did get "under my skin" is your ability to post libelous allegations ( You can consult West Law to determine the difference between libel and slander) against the Athletics program at Madison and, in particular against a certain student, Justin Goodwin.
I do not, nor have ever had, a Facebook page. When I did a public search on Facebook regarding Justin Goodwin, nothing was indicated regarding his age.
According to your allegations, one could only have access to his page if they were one of his "friends." Are you one of his "friends?"

I am not a "friend" of any high-school ages folks. I am an alumnus and supporter of Madison because I believe in the integrity of the academic and extra-curricular culture created by the Administration, Advisors, and Coaches of Madison's young citizens.
I am always amazed by the credo espoused by folks on Internet posting sites regarding "free speech" who do not use their actual identity. Through any search you can see who I am and what I represent, and I stand by my beliefs.
I challenge you to do the same and cease to perpetuate allegations against Madison's programs and athletes and devote yourself to positive contributions on behalf of Chatham and its programs.

Im sorry everyone your all being too nice, no one cares who you are, your a fool who dosent know what hes talking about. Do some reasearch before you put something on a public blog, and stop friending highschool boys who you clearly dont know on facebook.. does no one else see something wrong with that..?
P.S. If your questioning the age of a highschool kid, you need to provide a birth cirtificate to enroll, so that would mean your suggesting that a 17 year old boy committed a felony to play in a football game...

@peter I'm assuming that your some middle aged guy that goes on highschool kids Facebook pages to creep.. Justin Goodwin is not 19 .. He's 17 get that through your thick head .. And don't assume anything about who I am ;) have great day!

Peter, you are correct in was is listed on FB. And you only have to be a friend of a friend to view it. My daughter is a junior at MHS and I am friends w her and she is friends w Justin. But, let's remember something. It is FB and there is no requirement for what you post or declare. As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, there was at least at one time where in order to join a social network, you had be be a certain age according to the terms of FB. I certainly remember that many people added a few years to their age in order to meet that requirement. Oh and what documents must you present to post your information on FB? NONE!!!

If you want to go to a school, you must provide your original birth certificate, along w a slew of other documents. There is no doubt #4 is an awesome player and we have another awesome team. But saying that he is 19 bc his FB page says so, is about as ridiculous as it gets.

Oh and Steve, I love the grieving process reminder you posted.

Peter sounds like a typical cry baby spoiled Chathamite who didn't get his way now whines like a bit--. You lost. Deal with it. Have fun in Group 3 next year playing Morris Hills, Morristown, Delbarton and Par Hills!

Yes Peter, it appears u've cracked the code. Madison purposely holds back their best athletes and doctors legal forms to gain a strategic competative advantage over the other high schools. Because after all, winning these HS games is really what's important.

But unfortunately, I've got more bad news for you Pete. Since we have JG only listed as a Jr (as is I believe the entire Madison backfield), he'll be back again next year when he's 20. Pretty soon we'll have it rigged so our 'kids' can be drafted right out of Madison HS to the NFL.

Wow, a "birther" argument over a kid playing HS football. This is stuff worthy of the Repub presidential clowns, er, candidates. Most impressive are Kevin Blair's posts. Tell you what, Peter, want to put a little wager on this? If you're so sure you're right about Goodwin's age that you slam a kid online, how about you and I each put up $500 and we determine who wins the wager with a birth certificate or certified school records? You can choose who holds the money. If I win, I'll donate the winnings to the MHS Athletic Department. If you don't want to put your money where your mouth is, then I suggest a retraction and apology are in order.

Hey, according to Summit Patch http://summit.patch.com/articles/summit-football-defeats-caldwell-34-20#photo-8495213 we will be playing in Giants Stadium. I guess Rex pulled some strings!

Also, I believe it will be Friday night and not Saturday, since the MEF fundraiser is Saturday. Way to go Dodgers! Good luck w Summit. Let's hope for a two-time championship!

Karin....check out Madison Patch rather than Summit Patch. The game is Friday, December 2, at 7:00PM....Kean University in Union.

Steve...we seem to have silence from Peter since you issued your challenge. Good for you!

Thanks Jerry for the update. I only went to the Summit Patch and Chatham Patch after reading Kevin's comment of Peter's posts on multiple sites. So perhaps Summit will all go to Giants Stadium and then we will win by default. See everyone on December 2nd! Go Dodgers!

Steve, although I may only agree w you about 50% of the time, I must admit that you do have a way of silencing others. It was certainly appreciated here.

Thanks for your feedback. Patch has confirmed from the Madison Athletic Department that Justin Goodwin is in fact 17 years old. We will now be closing the comments to this article.
