A parade down Main Street to celebrate Opening Day for Madison Little League is scheduled for noon on Saturday, and an official opening ceremony for the Madison Recreation Center is scheduled for 3 p.m. the same day.

According to a lineup of events on the Little League website, the parade starts at St. Vincent Martyr Church and ends at Dodge Field, where the opening ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

For the ballplayers, team pictures are being taken at Sonny Vitale Memorial Field from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a pancake breakfast is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 192 Main Street, at $6 per person or $20 maximum per family.

Players in uniform can get a free scoop of ice cream at McCool's from 1 to 5 p.m.

A brief ceremony officially opening the Madison Recreation Center on Ridgedale Avenue is scheduled for 3 p.m. American Legion members are expected to present the colors.
