A man was found dead Friday morning in a wooded area in Rockaway Township by investigators who were searching for a missing individual, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

The man was found in the woods near Mount Hope Pond off Richard Mine Road Friday shortly after 10:30 a.m., Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi said. The man's identity and cause of death was not immediately released.

Authorities were in the area searching for Kyle Harris, a 20-year-old of Richard Mine Road who was last seen on July 30.

The Rockaway Township Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff's Office K9 and New Jersey Search and Rescue were involved in the search Friday morning.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office remain on the scene investigating the death.
