Crowds lined Main Street on Friday evening for Madison's annual Santa Parade, which culminated in the lighting of the Christmas tree at Main Street and Waverly Place.

This year's parade included a historic fire engine donated to Madison by Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge, first responders, the Madison High School marching band, and, of course, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

Black Friday in Madison also included live music acts at 15 venues throughout the day.

The parade was great! I think there were even more people than years past. Thanks to all the parade participants and organizers for making this such a great success for our great town.

For the love of God who was behind the microphone and why???!!! Her voice and comments add nothing to the event. Sometimes less is more. Let the event breathe I tell you.

I thought that the person on the microphone did an excellent job. She was clear and gave a little information about the floats and the people involved. She was clear and really added to the Parade. Everyone around us we saying that it was nice to know the background on the floats and she had everyone respond with applause for the trucks. Well done by whoever was behind the microphone.
