Blotter: Teen Had Booze, Marijuana, Fake ID
Pennsylvania man was one of two people arrested last week for alleged marijuana possession, according a police news release.
As Madison police were processing an 18-year-old Coopersburg, Pa., man on a charge of underage possession of alcohol, police discovered the man allegedly had marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a fraudulent driver's license on him, authorities said.
Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested Sean Bissey at 10:08 p.m. Saturday after Mirabella initially stopped a vehicle in which Bissey was a passenger on Madison Avenue for an alleged equipment violation, police said.
Mirabella then determined Bissey allegedly was in possession of alcoholic beverages and arrested him, according to a Madison Police news release.
Bissey was taken to headquarters for processing and, during processing, it was discovered Bissey allegedly was in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a fraudulent driver’s license, and Bissey was charged with additional violations, police said.
After processing, Bissey was released pending a court appearance, police said. Detective Sean Plumstead assisted with the arrest.
Marijuana charge after speeding stop
A 25-year-old Newark woman was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after she allegedly was determined to have the drug during a Madison Avenue traffic stop for alleged speeding, police said.
Harriett Sumo was arrested by Patrolman James Cavezza at 11:40 p.m. on Friday, according to police.
After a field interview during the traffic stop, Cavezza determined Sumo allegedly was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said. She was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance, police said. Sumo also was issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding and hindering apprehension by showing false identification, according to police.
