Chamber Sponsoring January Sales Days

Specials throughout Madison will begin on Thursday and go through Saturday.

The Madison Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring January Sales Days starting Thursday, Jan. 21, and continuing throughout Saturday, Jan. 23. The special comes a little over a month after the chamber sponsored Holiday Shopping Days.

The sales during this event are designed to help clear way for new spring merchandise.

Many service businesses and restaurants will also be offering discounts during the three days.

Participating businesses include Alfred's Sport Shop, New Leaf Consignment, , Sprouts, Gerlach's, Gary's Wine & Marketplace, The Suburban Shoe Shop, Once & Again Consignment, Rose City Jewelers, The Chocolate Rose Shoppe, Schnipper's. The Rocking Horse, Unitravco, Green Energy Innovations, Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, Prima, The Birdhouse at Madison and many others.

Restaurants, such as Poor Herbie's and Soho 33, will offer food or drink specials.

Many business owners, some new in the borough, expressed their enthusiasm for the event in a release from the chamber.

"I have many items on sale now as I try to make room for all of the new spring merchandise coming in," said Danielle Torrani, owner of d torr, 36 Main St. "I look forward to showing customers what we feature and how to put garments together for an edgy new look."

Torrani's shop, a new business to Main Street, features women's clothing and accessories.

"A lot of shoppers do not realize we have shelves of games and toys, great for family time, along with our lines of sporting goods and equipment, priced to compete," Chuck Bleakley, a new partner at Alfred's Sporting Goods, said in the release.

PC Problem's owner, Carmen DeRosa, who is in a new location at 50 Main St., also commented in the release, saying his business is eager to help people figure out there new Christmas tech additions.

The American Red Cross will also be part of the event, offering a giveaway when any child enrolls in its babysitting training camp. The training camp will be held Feb. 15-18 from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Please contact them directly at 973-377-0455 for more information.
