Atlanta Bread Dispels Chipotle Rumor, Plans New Look

Word that Mexican grill was replacing bakery cafe not true, manager says.

The Madison Atlanta Bread Company on Main Street is not closing and the bakery cafe is not being replaced by a Chipotle Mexican grill.

Manager Deborah J. Reynolds said she is not sure how a rumor that was happening started, but enough customers asked her about it she decided to hang a sign on the door last week to clear up the misconception.

Measurements of the restaurant were taken recently, but that was because they are planning to remodel the space, not because anyone else is moving in, Reynolds said.

UPDATE: The bakery cafe ended up closing at the end of October.

I prefer Panera Bread in Florham Park, any day over Atlanta Bread.

Darn. Chipolte would have been awesome. I'm not a "bread" fan in general, Atalanta or Panera.

@Madison Station - any self-respecting fan of 70s metal will tell you it is spelled "Breadfan" - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadfan.

Steve, I was -15 in 1970... but thanks for the history lesson! I'll fire up the 8-trak in the basement and try to find some tapes.

Play it loud and spread the gospel of Budgie. If a JW knocked on my door and played me this song, I'd probably convert on the spot - we all would. When this album came out, I was most likely listening to Bobby Sherman records my mother trimmed off the back of Honeycomb boxes. Bobby Sherman was great, but he never rocked like Budgie.

Metallica did a killer cover or Breadfan before they turned into Bon Jovi...and it's weird the thing I don't like about Atlanta Bread is their bread.

Metallica was great. Saw them at the Capitol Theater in Passaic on the second leg of their Master of Puppets tour when they were a full fledged headlining act and not just opening for Ozzy.
