9 Unlocked Cars Burglarized on Same Day

Cash, laptops, cell phones and GPS units among items taken, Madison police said.

Madison police are investigating nine burglaries and thefts from unlocked motor vehicles parked in residential neighborhoods that occurred on Saturday, police said.

The thefts occurred in the neighborhood areas of Alma Avenue, Orchard Street, Crestwood Drive, Woodside Road and Valley Road, according to a news release.

Items stolen included cash, pocketbooks, GPS units, laptops and cell phones, police said.

Detective Paul Kosakowski is investigating.

Detective Lt. Jerry Mantone is requesting residents lock their vehicles and garage doors and report any suspicious vehicles, people or noises during the night hours to the Police Desk at 973-593-3000 or 911.
