Key Club Helps ELIMINATE Maternal Neonatal Tetanus

On Thursday, December 13, 2012 the Madison High School Key Club donated $1,000 to help save new-born children and their mothers from Maternal Neonatal Tetanus. The Key Club raised the money by holding a dodge-ball tournament, a car wash, and other fund raisers.

About the ELIMINATE Project: The ELIMINATE Project is a joint venture between Kiwanis International and UNICEF with the goal of eliminating Maternal Neonatal Tetanus worldwide. This tragic disease kills 160 babies a day in third-world countries, where Tetanus is still prevalent. By inoculating a mother (cost is only $1.80), the mother and baby are protected from Tetanus which exists in unsanitary birthing conditions.
