(Madison, NJ) -The Madison Area YMCA Mariners swim team is holding tryouts for their 2012/2013 swim season held at the Madison Area YMCA pool located in the Family Center on 111 Kings Road in Madison.  Swimmers only need to attend one of the days listed, must have a suit, goggles, and a swim cap if hair is past their ears.  Current Mariners team members do not need to tryout.

All swimmers 6 to 8 years old will tryout on Tuesday, July 17^th from 5-6 pm and should be able to demonstrate legal butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle for 25 yards and should be able to participate in a large group setting.

Ages 9 to 10 will tryout on Wednesday, July 18 from 5-6 pm and must be able to perform multiple 50 yard repeats of all four competitive strokes faster than 90 seconds and multiple 100 yard freestyle repeats faster than two minutes. Swimmers ages 11 to 18 will tryout on Thursday, July 19 from 5-6 pm and must be able to swim multiple 50 yard repeats of all competitive strokes faster than one minute and a minimum of 15x100 yard freestyle repeats faster than one minute and 40 seconds.
