'Unique' House Tour Sponsored by Thursday Morning Club
The Thursday Morning Club’s “Homes for the Holidays/Harvest of Homes” House Tour will return this year showcasing six homes in the Madison and Harding Township areas from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Nov 17.
“The homes featured in our tour this year are unique and interesting--and historic,” said Karen Jeisi, the club’s chairwoman for the House Tour. “All have been authentically restored or beautifully renovated,” she added.
“The homes represent various architectural styles from the late 1700s through the early 2000s,” remarked Ginny Campion, who along with Karen Jeisi led the effort to find homes that would provide a special tour experience for visitors.
On the day of the tour, the Thursday Morning Club’s Madison Community House at 25 Cook Ave., Madison, will be the meeting place, not only for picking up tickets, but also for a delicious lunch served from 11:30 am to 3 pm by the club’s catering department. In addition, there will be a restaurant gift certificate fundraising event, and homemade baked goods will be available for purchase from La Patisserie. For your holiday shopping, Patchpoint of Short Hills and Silver Touches of Florham Park will display their extraordinary fashions and jewelry. Complementary coffee will be served from 9 am to 11 am.
Proceeds from the event will provide funds for the renovated Madison Community House owned, operated and maintained by the Thursday Morning Club. Organized in 1896, the Club is a member of both the New Jersey State and General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Currently, the Madison Community House provides meeting rooms for various non-profit and civic organizations, houses Dress for Success® Morris County and sponsors a Nursery School and Before and After School Child Care. Approximately 50,000 people use the Madison Community House each year. The Homes for the Holiday House Tour is the club’s largest fundraiser this year and alternates with Le Bazar de Noel which will return in 2013.
Advance tickets are $40 each; an optional lunch for an additional $15 will bring the total to $55. Advance lunch reservations are requested at the time of ticket purchase for the tour. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the tour for $45. Checks can be made payable and mailed to “TMC, House Tour,” P.O. Box 345, Madison, NJ 07940. Tickets will not be mailed and are available for pickup only on the day of the tour, Saturday, Nov 17, beginning at 9:15 am at the Madison Community House.
