Dentists can’t fix declining IQ

Dentists can’t fix declining IQ

New Jerseyians are fortunate. Unlike the more than 70% of American cities, only 14% of New Jersey communities fluoridate their water. Unfortunately, that is about to change and our health will be directly affected.

How does fluoridated water adversely affect us? It shows up as visible disfiguring of teeth enamel (brown or discolored spots deposited on our teeth). However, cosmetic reasons to not fluoridate is the least of my concern. Studies have proven that fluoride ingestion is linked to children’s declining IQ. Consider this, fluoride is as unnatural to the human body as arsenic, aluminum, lead, lithium, etc.

Based on bad scientific studies from earlier this century, scientists believed that fluoride helped prevent tooth decay and so it was implemented as an additive to drinking water. These studies have since been proven false and, in fact, fluoridated water offers no such preventative action to teeth decay and has ultimately harmed our health.

Science is constantly evolving and sometimes what we believe today turns out to be incredibly harmful tomorrow. The dangers of false pretenses compound with bad science affects legislation and harms the uninformed population …

Today 32% of our American children have “Dental Flourosis.” This is the manifestations of Fluoride toxicity. Why increase the American public’s exposure? The percentage will only multiply. Let’s not forget that the teeth, like our eyes, reflect our overall health.

The Fluoride in our water supply is not like chlorine that acts to purify the water of germs for our protection. Fluoride is added to our drinking supply to medicate the population with a decay preventive drug. Oddly, the fluoride in our water supply is not pharmaceutical grade at all. It is industrial grade and may be contaminated with other elements such as lead, arsenic, aluminum and other contaminants.

All pediatricians will tell new moms not to give the infant any fluoride for at least a year. I’d take this a step further and say avoid not only fluoridated water but also fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash.

Harvard recently released a study indicating that fluoride is responsible for a drop of 8 points  of a person’s IQ. This is a dramatic “Red Flag” because cognitive function is impaired.

I consider cities like Madison, NJ, fortunate because they are among the 82% of NJ communities that chose to not fluoridate their water. This will change if Senator Joe Vitale has his way with the citizens of NJ.

Senator Vitale plans to mandate a 100% fluoridated water plan across all of New Jersey.

Toothpastes and mouthwashes containing fluoride have warnings that state, “Do not swallow and  get medical help or call Poison control if swallowed.” Why then should we permit this toxicity in our drinking water?

It’s easy to understand that since fluoride is most effective as a topical application, then anyone who thinks it will prevent tooth decay should be able to choose for themselves. As for me, I would like a glass of water only, nothing added.
